Spanish National Amateur Teams prepare their season under the watchful eyes of Harold Swash's team

On the 2nd day of Christmas my putting coach gave to me……

Christmas time for most people is a time for celebrations or relaxation. For the Spanish National Golf Federation however, it was a time to put their top amateur golfers through an intensive training camp with the Harold Swash Putting School of Excellence in preparation for the forthcoming season at the Escorpion Golf Club in Betera, Valencia, Spain, 27th-29th December 2007.

Invited by the Real Federación Española de Golf, the team of Harold Swash, Director of Instruction Phillip Kenyon and Accredited Instructor Michel Monnard worked with 32 of the country’s leading amateur golfers on their putting technique. The highest handicap was 1.7 and the lowest +3.5.

On the eve of the camp HSPSE delivered a presentation to members of the national squad on the ‘HSPSE Putting Philosophy and Fundamentals’ to give the players an insight and conceptual understanding to assist the work that would be covered over the following days.

The first day then involved extensive data capture where each of the 32 players was assessed on their putting technique, accurracy and the quality of ball roll.

To collect the data both dual camera video analysis and SAM Puttlab capture was used. This information formed a baseline for each pupil from which an individual programme for development could be determined for the remainder of the training camp and beyond.

The 2nd day saw the players working extensively on their set up and stroke mechanics and addressing the importance of custom fitting in order to achieve specific results.

The final day saw the team working further on technique as well as green reading concepts and pre-shot and practice routines.

The training camp was a huge success with Spanish Federation and its Team of National Coaches expressing their gratitude to the focused and thorough approach HSPSE brought. The players now embark on a long season with the first national event in only a few weeks time. We wish them best of luck for the 2008 season.

Working with the Harold Swash-method gives a Teaching Professional a great tool to increase his credibility within the Golf Teaching Community through acquiring detailed knowledge which is TOUR PROVEN. But not only that, it gives a Teaching Pro an additional revenue source through specialising in a part of the game which is generally overlooked and poorly taught.
