After the successful delivery of the Level 1 and Level 2 course at Palm Island Golf Resort, the HSPSE Director of Instructin Phil Kenyon and staff instructor Michel Monnard offered private clinics to local amateur golfer. Many of the pupils attended the clinics last year, so it was great to seem return and to build upon the improvements they made 12 months ago.Interestingly two of the pupils were young Asian golfer with real promise. One pupil was Jazz (ATIWIT JANEWATTANANOND) from Bangkok, Thailand. Jazz is a 14 year old boy, who has just been invited to play the Cambodian Open. The youngest person ever to play an Asian Tour Event. He came to us through his’ uncles initiative, a club fitter, who was in touch with Vutipat Rodpetch (Yes! Distributor for Thailand). Jazz has achieved a lot at such a young age. Recently he came 46th at the Singha Challenge, an event on the Thai Tour, the only amateur making the cut. During the 4 sessions we had with him, Jazz showed a real sense of passion and committment for the game as well as an outstanding ability. We are sure that Jazz will make it up to the leaderboard sooner or later. The second boy was a 12 year old Chinese kid, preparing for his most important junior event this year. He showed an amazing concentration and dedication, given the fact that he was such a young boy. All in all we where very happy with the private clinics for amateur golfers. It is very gratifying when you see golfer of all abilities being able to improve based on your knowledge and specialization in putting instruction. We believe strongly that all Golf Pros should be focusing on improving their putting knowledge, improving their ability to help golfers well beyond the normal standard. Putting Instruction is mostly neglected and poorly transmitted, so a programme like the Accredited Instructors Programme for Golf Pros is off a real benefit for golf teacher.
