Sandy is a great looking face balanced, tail piece alignment putter while the Gina is a toe weighted classic looking design. The Callie fc, a version of the best selling Callie model, is forged out of carbon steel. All the models went down well with the players.
In particular Marteen Lafeber will be using the Callie fc this week. This came through spending some time with Marteen working with him on his technique. In 10 years on tour Marteen said he had never been in the top 100 of the putting stats. Last week the guys at Mizuno mentioned that we needed to help him out on the his technique, as he is playing so well but not converting his chances. We got Marteen on the SAM Puttlab and video where he could appreciate what he was doing and that some simple changes could make drastic improvements. Marteen was happy and i feel he could do well this week.
Met up with Mark Foster again this week. Mark was enviously buoyant after his best finish of the year last week in Seville. It was also his best putting stats for a long while. Mark finished 5th on the stats with an average of 28.3 putts per round. Interestingly Peter Fowler whom i started working with last week was 1st on the putting stats with 27.2 putt per round average . I met up with Peter this week also and we worked on the same theme as in Seville.
Again the Donna was popular in terms of players picking up putters. Per Ulrik Johanson the former Ryder Cup player took one this week we had bent to four degrees flat . If the sunshine continues this week, with the perfect greens the players have on Castello di Tolcinasco Golf Course i think there could be some low scoring.
Next week I'm back out for the Irish Open. Fingers crossed the sunshine keeps following the tour.
