It was a cold and windy couple of days
in Ireland for the Irish Open t Baltray Golf Club County Louth.
From a product perspective Anders Hansen
picked up the new Dawn this week which will be in play while also the
SWS shaft received some attention this week.
The Dawn is a really great looking putter
which I’m sure will be popular out on tour. It’s made from 303 stainless
steel, is 100% CNC milled and has head weight of 345g. With regards to the SWS, Maarten Lafeber will be using a Donna with 100g weight while Anthony Wall will be using an Abbie with 100g weight. James Kingston also has a 100g weight fitted to a Valerie. If there was ever a week to use the SWS this would be it with high winds expected, as the weighting system will offer the players increased stability.
On Wednesday I spent some time with
Simon Wakefield, who by his own admission has been struggling on the
greens. The wind was too strong to set up the SAM system so we worked
a little on the high speed video and the session proved productive.
Hopefully Simon can find a return to form on the greens this week. In the afternoon I met up with Maarten Lafeber again to continue the work we did in Spain a few weeks back and Ollie Fisher who is also playing this week. |
